Do you own your reddit account ? I mean can i just sell my account for money ? isnt that against the rules ?

In addition to it being against the rules, anyone who is looking to purchase your account is likely doing it for shady purposes, like posting spam or misleading information to push an agenda. They are looking for accounts they can get quickly that have enough karma to post in places a new account cannot go.

It's against the Reddit User Agreement to sell, transfer or licence your reddit account without reddit's approval.

I've been trying to sell mine for years. I've only ever had one offer and that was for just 5.00. It might be my user name, I'm not sure though.

why would anyone buy a reddit account? it's free to make one or two .. or a million

Some companies buy inactive accounts to advertise this products without it looking too suspicious. Other regular people might want to buy a really old account and/or one with lots of karma to seem like an og redditor or popular one.

the time it takes to build karma etc. means your account is less likely to be seen as an advertising shill.

so something you post seems more authentic. like the authentic taste of Tweek's coffee. coffee made with ingredients sourced from local organic suppliers.it's local coffee. brewed locally. mention a penguin and get 10% off.

So far been asked to sell it twice over the last few years, I'm not giving it up plus if they use it to troll or mess with people it would upset me.

And ninja edit, it is in the TOS you aren't allowed to sell it so looks like I made the right call.

I'm not sure if it's against the rules, but I recommend that you don't. The buyer could be doing something shady.

You could probably trade it for a rubicite breast plate. They both have the same actual worth.
